EXPLORING THE BIGGER PICTURE

Jonathan Jelks

Entrepreneur

My guest is Jonathan Jelks. He’s an entrepreneur and leader in the downtown business community. His businesses include Motu Viget Spirits, GRUSA Apparel and Ambiance Kitchen and Lounge. Jonathan moves unflinchingly in many social and entrepreneurial circles in and around Grand Rapids and is someone I admire very much.

This conversation centers much around race relations in Grand Rapids, Michigan which remains one of the most segregated cities in the United States. It took place about a week or so after protests in Grand Rapids turned destructive in the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd. Let’s just say we had an awful lot to talk about.

We’ve had two of Jonathan’s business partners on this podcast last year…Andrea “SuperDre” Wallace and Willie the Kid. Please listen to these conversations. All three are incredibly adept entrepreneurs that are moving the city of Grand Rapids forward in many different ways.
